iPad distribution for 4th through 12th grade will occur from 4 pm to 9 pm daily starting August 5th and continuing through August 8th.
The insurance Options for the iPads are:
School Insurance plan (A)
1. The School Insurance Plan costs $100.00/year. Any remaining insurance money will be rolled to the following year or refunded when a student unenrolls or graduates.
2. The School Insurance Plan provides the following protections and options:
3. A protective case is provided free of charge. The cost of replacing a case due to vandalism or mistreatment will be deducted from this insurance deposit.
4. Charging cable and cube—the replacement cost will be deducted from this insurance fee if lost, stolen, broken, or not returned.
5. One repair – liquid immersion or damage excluded
6. Free device upgrade upon promotion to upper school within the district
7. Calhan School District iPad warranty covers manufacturer defects.
8. The CSD Technology Department must make repairs to ensure mandated safety measures are maintained
9. Student owns the device upon graduation
Or
Self-Insurance Plan (B)
1. Devices may be loaned under an agreement to self-insure the devices.
2. There is no cost for self-insurance.
3. Under self-insurance, the student and parent assume all costs for protection, repair, and replacement of the device, the case, and the charging cable and cube.
4. The CSD Technology Department must make repairs to ensure mandated safety measures are maintained
5. Free device upgrade upon promotion to upper school within the district
6. Calhan School District iPad warranty covers manufacturer defects.
7. The student owns the device upon graduation when all fees are paid.
