The Superintendent for 2008-2009 has been selected.  His name is Tim Holt. He comes to us from Fountain-Fort Carson.

Greetings to the Calhan Community!

I am honored to have been selected as the new superintendent of Calhan.  I am looking forward to the chance to be a part of your community, to serve the children and the families of Calhan.  I am very anxious to meet and get to know each one of you.

I am a native of Colorado Springs, growing up on the west side of town and graduating from Coronado High School.  I attended Adams State College in Alamosa where I received my Bachelors of Science degree.  I majored in Biology, Chemistry and Education.  My first teaching position was for Ellicott Middle School, after which, I taught middle school in Widefield.  I then went to Wasson High School and taught science and math while coaching basketball and football.  After completing my Masters Degree in Administration, I was a principal in Fountain – Ft. Carson where I eventually became the Director of Secondary Education.

My wife and I recently became “empty nesters” and are enjoying the freedom that comes when the kids move on.  We are rediscovering some of the hobbies that were put on hold for a few years:  travelling, scuba diving, cooking and fly fishing.  We are Colorado sports fans, trying to watch as many Rockies, Broncos, Avalanche and Air Force games as time (and money) allow.

The opportunity to grow and work with this community is thrilling for me.   We will roll up our sleeves to accomplish great things and will celebrate our successes together in the days and months to come.  Our students will always come first and we will make Calhan one of the best school districts in Colorado.
